Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Effective date: October 9, 2026
1. Introduction
Docvexa ("we", "us", "our") operates docvexa.me and provides free, browser-based PDF tools to users worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
By using Docvexa, you agree to the data practices described in this policy. If you don't agree, please stop using the Service.
2. How Our Tools Work
Docvexa processes all PDF files directly in your web browser using client-side JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib, Tesseract.js, PDF.js, and similar). This means:
- Your files are never uploaded to our servers
- Your files are never stored anywhere outside your device
- Your files are never transmitted over the internet to us or any third party
- Processing works even without an internet connection after the page has loaded
- We cannot access, view, or recover your documents โ even if we wanted to
3. Information We Collect
We collect minimal, anonymous usage data to improve our service:
- Page views: Which tool pages are visited (no file content, no file names)
- Error logs: Anonymous JavaScript errors to help us fix bugs
- Performance metrics: Page load times and tool execution times to optimize speed
- Browser information: Browser type and version to ensure compatibility
- Approximate region: Derived from IP address for geographic analytics (not stored long-term)
We do not collect:
- File names, contents, metadata, or any part of your documents
- Personal identifying information (name, address, phone number)
- Precise IP addresses beyond standard server logs (retained max 30 days)
- Browser fingerprints or device identifiers
- Cross-site tracking data
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use only essential browser storage for the website to function properly:
- Theme preference: Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode
- Language preference: Remembers your selected interface language
- Session preferences: Settings you adjust within tools (e.g., default compression level)
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can clear your browser storage at any time without affecting your ability to use the tools.
5. Information You Submit Voluntarily
When you contact us through our contact form or support channels, we receive the information you provide (name, email, message). We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and do not share it with third parties. Contact records are retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
6. Third-Party Services
Our website may use the following third-party services:
- CDN providers (Cloudflare, jsDelivr): For delivering JavaScript libraries and static assets. These providers may log standard request data per their own policies.
- Font providers (Google Fonts): For typography. Served with privacy-friendly settings.
- Form processing (FormSubmit): Used only when you voluntarily submit the contact form. Your message is forwarded to our email.
None of these services receive your document content, as all document processing is strictly client-side.
7. Data Security
Because all processing is client-side, the security of your documents depends on the security of your own device and browser. We recommend:
- Using an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)
- Using HTTPS (enforced automatically by our site)
- Clearing browser downloads and cache after processing sensitive documents
- Avoiding use of public or shared computers for confidential documents
Our website is served over TLS encryption and we follow industry best practices to protect the integrity of our code.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA), UK GDPR, CCPA (California), and other privacy regulations. These may include the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell data)
Since we don't require accounts and don't store personal data by default, there's usually nothing to request. If you've contacted us via email, you can request deletion of that correspondence by emailing docvexapdf@gmail.com.
9. International Data Transfers
Docvexa is accessible worldwide. Server logs and anonymous analytics may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. We rely on CDN providers who maintain global infrastructure. No personal document data is ever transferred because document data never leaves your device.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We'll notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we may post a more prominent notice on the site.
